Former Premier League forward Papiss Cisse, who became a cult hero at Newcastle United, continues his scoring streak in Sunday League football. The 40-year-old Senegalese striker dazzled once more by hitting another double hat-trick in a non-league match this weekend.
After a varied career that took him to China, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates, Cisse made a surprise return to the UK earlier this year. He now represents Wythenshawe F.C.’s veteran side, joining several well-known former professionals including George Boyd, Emile Heskey, Stephen Ireland, Nedum Onuoha, Danny Drinkwater, Maynor Figueroa, Joleon Lescott, and Oumar Niasse.
Cisse’s recent form has been nothing short of remarkable. He netted six goals in a 6–2 victory against Collegiate Old Boys last month, then matched the feat in an 11–0 thrashing of South Liverpool. Despite his heroics, the striker also missed a penalty and later misjudged a corner, sending it out of play — though the veteran could only smile at the moment.
“Papiss Cisse what is this performance?”
“Streets will never forget Papiss Cisse.”
Even at 40, Papiss Cisse continues to entertain fans with prolific scoring and charisma, showing that his passion for football remains undiminished.
