Six people were shot and one man was killed during three separate violent shootings across New York City on Sunday night, according to police reports.
Just before 9 p.m., officers responded to a 911 call at a building on Brook Avenue between East 142nd Street and East 143rd Street in Mott Haven. They found three males wounded by gunfire, including a 16-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man, both shot in the back, and a 29-year-old man with a gunshot to his leg.
All three victims were transported to Lincoln Hospital and remain in stable condition. Police have made no arrests, and the investigation is ongoing.
About 20 minutes earlier, police arrived at a residence on 16th Road between 147th and 149th Street in Whitestone where multiple people had been shot. They discovered a 39-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his left arm and a 49-year-old woman injured in her right arm and torso.
Both were taken to a nearby hospital and are in stable condition. Authorities recovered a firearm at the scene and continue their investigation.
