They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.
This Remembrance Sunday (9 November), services and parades will take place across Angus, including the laying of wreaths, to honor all who gave their lives defending our freedoms.
If you have not yet made plans and are able to, I encourage you to take a moment to join your community at one of these important events and pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
If attending is not possible, please take time during the day to quietly reflect, alone or with friends and family, to remember the fallen.
Tuesday, 11 November, offers another chance to pay respects. At 11am, whether at home or work, pause for two minutes of silence to honor the selflessness and bravery of our Armed Services.
We must and will remember them.
I also want to extend our thanks to the service men and women who continue to serve both near and far. As they protect us, we will support them.
