Meet the Couple Behind Urban Retreat
Irma Cicak, a student from the class of '24, received a strange email on a winter day in 2021 - a friend request from the astrology website Astro-Seek.
“I almost deleted it, and then I checked it out later and realized we have identical placements,”
said Irma, referring to their astrological natal charts. She messaged Lein Bolukbasi, who was looking for his "astro-twin" online.
“Only she had pictures, nobody else. And I was like ‘Hmm, my astro-twin,’”
said Lein, who was living in Istanbul at the time, having recently graduated with a degree in interior architecture.
Lein didn't speak English and used Google Translate to message Irma, who thought it might just be a pen pal friendship.
“I didn’t think anything of it. I was like ‘This might be a pen pal, maybe not,’”
said Irma.
