Two Straight Wins for Wolves
The Ely Timberwolves, a high school football team, had a remarkable turnaround in their season. After scoring only 14 points in the first five weeks, they had a 32-point outburst in a week six victory against Chisholm.
They continued this momentum, scoring 50 first-half points and securing their first two-game winning streak in five years with a 58-40 victory over East Central. Junior Sean Merriman had three touchdowns in this game.
Although they stumbled in their regular season finale, losing 52-14 to a powerful Braham team, the Wolves completed the season with a 2-6 overall record, their best since 2020.
The Wolves' two victories this season are the most in any season since 2020.
