Virginians are heading to the polls this Tuesday in a critical election cycle that puts nearly every key position up for grabs, including the governor’s mansion and all 100 seats in the Virginia House of Delegates.
Polls are open until 7 p.m., and anyone in line by that time is still allowed to vote. Voters must bring one of the state’s acceptable IDs. If a voter does not have an ID, they must sign an ID Confirmation Statement and will cast a provisional ballot.
Those casting provisional ballots without signing the ID Confirmation Statement must submit proof of identity or the signed statement to their local electoral board by noon the Friday following the election for their vote to be counted.
Eligible Virginians who are not yet registered can register and vote on the same day at their precinct by casting a provisional ballot.
