Channel 9’s chief footy reporter, Tom Morris, has made a sensational move to rival network Channel 7. The 34-year-old informed Channel 9 on Friday morning that he accepted a lucrative offer from Channel 7, according to Code Sports.
Seven’s head of sport, Chris Jones, along with SEN boss Craig Hutchison, were instrumental in securing Morris's transfer. This move adds Morris to an already strong group of top footy talent at Channel 7.
Morris is not expected to hold a major on-air position, as Mitch Cleary will continue as Channel 7’s chief footy reporter. Together with Xander McGuire, who recently also moved from Nine, and Cleary, they form a formidable reporting team.
