Flinders Port Holdings floats into Christmas Pageant

Flinders Port Holdings Showcases Maritime Spirit at Christmas Pageant

Flinders Port Holdings presented a custom-built float at the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant in Adelaide, celebrating the maritime industry’s contribution to South Australia’s festive traditions.

Celebrating Maritime Trade

The float highlights the essential role of maritime trade in delivering festive cheer and goods to South Australians. This marks the first custom-designed float to join the pageant in five years.

“We’re thrilled to finally unveil our FPH float,” said Flinders Port Holdings. “It celebrates the vital role maritime trade plays in bringing festive joy, and presents, to South Australians each year.”

Float Design and Features

The float includes a detailed replica of one of the company’s Pilot boats, accompanied by straddle carriers, shipping containers, and FPH elves organizing Christmas gifts. The designers added a blue fabric ruffle at the base to mimic the boat gliding through the sea.

“The blue fabric ruffle below adds the perfect finishing touch, creating the illusion of the Pilot Boat gliding through water,” the company noted.

Event Significance

The pageant, beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, opens with the ceremonial golden whistle. Since 1933, it has marked the official start of the holiday season in South Australia, attracting thousands of spectators each year.

Float Launch

Earlier in the week, the float was officially launched at Outer Harbor, where members of the FPH team joined the celebration in festive spirit.
