Currents News Reporter Completes First NYC Marathon
Katie Vasquez, a reporter for Currents News, participated in the New York City Marathon, running 26.2 miles through the city's streets.
Normally, Vasquez can be found running after a breaking news story, but this time she was running for a different reason, joining an estimated 55,000 runners in the marathon.
The course spans all five boroughs, starting on Staten Island and ending in Central Park, covering parts of Brooklyn and Queens, which are part of the Diocese of Brooklyn.
Vasquez completed her first marathon in 7 hours, 32 minutes, and 31 seconds, feeling a huge sense of accomplishment when she crossed the finish line.
I thought, 'I'm finally here.'
