The Big Shred is returning to Cape Coral, hosted by the Lee County Clerk & Comptroller office as a semi-annual shredding event.
The event will take place on Saturday at the Manning Government Complex, 1039 SE 9th Place, in Cape Coral. Clerk Kevin Karnes hosts this free event twice a year to provide a convenient way to securely dispose of confidential records.
"We created the big shred as a way to help our community members keep their personal information at home safe,”
Past events have been held in Estero, Cape Coral, Lehigh Acres, and Fort Myers, with over 25,200 pounds of confidential documents safely shredded and disposed of. The last Big Shred in Cape Coral disposed of over 5,500 pounds of documents.
This is the fifth Big Shred event hosted by the Clerk’s office since its inception in 2023.
