Global rapper Nicki Minaj has commended former U.S. President Donald Trump for designating Nigeria as a "Country of Particular Concern" due to alleged large-scale killings of Christians.
On October 31, 2025, Trump made the declaration under U.S. law on international religious freedom, citing reports of thousands of Christians killed by radical Islamist groups and militias.
Reading this made me feel a deep sense of gratitude. We live in a country where we can freely worship God. No group should ever be persecuted for practising their religion.
Nicki Minaj further stated that respect for different beliefs is crucial, and that many countries are affected by religious persecution.
