Suspect in Charlie Kirk Killing Allowed to Wear Street Clothes in Court

A Utah judge has ruled that Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old suspect charged with killing Charlie Kirk, can appear in court wearing street clothes due to the case's "extraordinary" public and media attention.

Robinson's attorneys argued that images of him in jail clothing and shackles could prejudice future jurors, given the extensive press coverage of the case.

Robinson shall be dressed as one who is presumed innocent," said Judge Tony Graf during a virtual court hearing.

However, the judge also ordered that Robinson must be physically restrained in court due to security concerns.

Robinson is charged with aggravated murder in the September 10 shooting of Charlie Kirk on a Utah college campus, and prosecutors plan to seek the death penalty.
