The 2025 Shanghai Masters was a family affair, with cousins Valentin Vacherot and Arthur Rinderknech meeting in the final.
Vacherot won the title, defeating Rinderknech 4–6, 6–3, 6–3, despite being 150 places below him in the ATP Rankings.
Notably, Vacherot also defeated 24-time Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic in straight sets in the semi-final, as well as 14th seed Alexander Bublik and 10th Holger Rune.
He became the first man from Monaco to reach the quarter-final of an ATP Masters 1000 event and went on to become the first Monagasque to win a top-level title.
His maiden title at ATP Tour level marked a significant milestone in his career.
