A Mount Pleasant neighborhood is bringing residents' pleas to the Town Council in hopes of installing speed humps on a road with a worrisome reputation.
For nearly four years, residents of the Oaks at Marsh View have tried to get speed humps on Mossy Branch Way. According to Sandy Quinqe, the homeowner's association president, drivers use the roadway as a 'cut-through' street to get from Rifle Range Road to Ben Sawyer Boulevard.
A recent near-miss incident has led neighbors to bring their requests directly to the town council.
"We had this horrible thing," said Brittany Webb, an Oaks at Marsh View resident. "Had we just gotten a speed bump that we'd been asking for, this could have slowed him down.
Residents are hoping the town council will take action to install speed humps on Mossy Branch Way.
