Teenager Dies from Brain Damage Caused by Inhaling Aerosol Deodorant
Sarah Mescall, a 14-year-old from Co Clare, died from irreversible brain damage after inhaling the contents of an aerosol deodorant.
The incident occurred at her family home, and she passed away five days later at Children's Health Ireland in Crumlin on September 25th, 2023.
The inquest heard that there is a long association between the inhalation of "volatile substances" and sudden, unexpected deaths.
