Kazakhstan, which already maintains diplomatic relations with Israel, has officially joined the Abraham Accords. The announcement came a day after US President Donald Trump revealed the decision, according to Anadolu.
In a statement, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry emphasized that the move aligns with the country’s national interests and serves to enhance cooperation with all “interested states.”
“This important decision was made solely in the interests of Kazakhstan and is fully consistent with the republic’s balanced, constructive, and peaceful foreign policy. Joining the Abraham Accords will contribute to strengthening our country’s cooperation with all interested states and, therefore, is fully in line with Kazakhstan’s strategic goals.”
The ministry further reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s commitment to supporting a fair, lasting, and comprehensive settlement of the Middle East conflict. It underscored that this approach is based on international law, relevant UN resolutions, and the principle of “two states for two peoples.”
The Abraham Accords are a series of agreements that normalized relations between Israel and several Arab nations during President Trump’s first term, marking a key diplomatic milestone in Middle Eastern affairs.
Kazakhstan’s inclusion in the Abraham Accords marks a strategic step to strengthen global partnerships while maintaining its commitment to peace and international cooperation.
