The iconic 1962 Jean Louis gown, last auctioned for $5 million, reportedly had a substantial tear in the right strap, several missing crystals, and fabric stretching around the back seam after Kim Kardashian wore it.
On Monday, Kim Kardashian appeared on the show All's Fair and faced intense questioning from her castmate Teyana Taylor about whether she had damaged Marilyn Monroe's famous dress when she wore it to the 2022 Met Gala.
'Did you whoop Marilyn Monroe's dress?' Taylor asked twice during a Vanity Fair interview.
Kim calmly replied both times: 'No.'
Teyana pressed further: 'So you're saying that it got to you already whooped?' to which Kim responded, 'I don't know how it got to me, but it's perfect now.'
When asked about trying on the dress, Kim was under pressure and joked:
'You're gonna cost me like $10M in insurance. Let's move on!'
After this exchange, Kim turned to the polygraph operator Stephanie Jackson to verify her honesty. Jackson confirmed that Kim was truthful throughout the questioning.
'All of it is true.'
Despite alleged damage to the valuable Marilyn Monroe gown, Kim Kardashian denies harming the dress and passed a lie detector test confirming her statements.
Kim Kardashian firmly denies damaging Marilyn Monroe’s dress, emphasizing its restored condition despite visible wear after her 2022 Met Gala appearance.
