Khano Smith has guided Rhode Island FC to the Eastern Conference play-off final of the United Soccer League Championship after a decisive 2-0 victory over North Carolina in the semi-finals on November 8.
The win came courtesy of two goals from Albert Dikwa, whose performance secured Rhode Island’s place in the next round of the competition.
A former Bermuda national team captain, Smith has gained recognition for his achievements in his debut season as head coach. Under his leadership, Rhode Island reached the conference final during their first campaign, marking a strong foundation for the new club.
The team will now travel to face Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC in the final on Saturday, November 15.
