Andy Wilman, former series producer of the iconic motoring show Top Gear, spoke out about an internal investigation into the program's work culture and practices, calling it a "witch hunt."
The investigation was prompted after controversy arose over the alleged use of a slur during filming in Thailand. According to reports from the Sun, Wilman also received a "dressing down" from the BBC's Editorial Policy department amid the uproar.
In excerpts from his new book, Mr Wilman’s Motoring Adventure, Andy reflected candidly on their behavior and the investigation:
"As good as we were at walking the line, sometimes entitlement creeps in, you get giddy and you plain just f* up."
He went on to call the internal probe:
"a f***ing joke" and stated, "What we had going here, in my opinion, was a witch hunt."
Author's summary: Andy Wilman criticizes the BBC's internal inquiry into Top Gear as a baseless "witch hunt," revealing candid reflections on the show's culture and past mistakes.
