Anunay Sood, a widely recognized travel influencer based in Dubai, passed away at the age of 32 in Las Vegas, as confirmed by his family on Thursday. The cause of his death has not been revealed.
Sood gained fame for his captivating travel visuals, drone photography, and adventure-centric content. He frequently collaborated with renowned global tourism boards and major brands. His digital influence earned him a spot in Forbes India’s Top 100 Digital Stars list for three successive years—2022, 2023, and 2024.
Forbes described him as a Dubai-based photographer who began by documenting his travels on Instagram and later ran a marketing firm.
With 1.4 million followers on Instagram and 380,000 subscribers on YouTube, Sood built one of India’s strongest travel communities online. His career evolved from spontaneous travel stories to high-profile media features and brand collaborations.
Sood’s journey began with a simple vlog from Spiti, where he jokingly mentioned needing several attempts to reach “paradise.” One of his early experiences included a cold trek to Chandrataal in just canvas shoes, walking through knee-deep snow. Over time, his love for the mountains turned into a passion for photography and visual storytelling.
As his skills grew, he refined his content style and developed a personalized approach that connected deeply with his audience. Eventually, he transitioned from hobbyist to professional creator, shaping a career driven by exploration and creativity.
Anunay Sood was the son of Ritu and Rahul Sood Kuthiala. He is survived by his two sisters, Rachita and Ishita Sood.
