Communities throughout the Inverness area will solemnly honor those who lost their lives in conflicts during Remembrance events this weekend. Hundreds are expected to attend the city’s main Remembrance Sunday parade and service at the Cavell Gardens war memorial.
In addition to the city parade, people will gather at various war memorials in surrounding towns and villages to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
The parade will begin on Huntly Street at 2:20 pm, featuring members of the Royal British Legion Scotland (RBLS), veterans, cadets, young people, politicians, civic leaders, and others. This year’s event will also include motorcyclists from the Highland Riders’ Branch of the RBLS.
The procession will cross the River Ness to the war memorial, where the service of Remembrance starts at 3 pm. It will include a two-minute silence, wreath laying, and readings by pupils from Charleston Academy.
