Help Purchase Chair Lifts for 11-Year-Old Sudbury Boy
A GoFundMe effort is underway to install stair lifts at home for young Alex Bernier-Legare, an 11-year-old boy with Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease.
Alex's mother, Melissa Bernier-Legare, initiated the fundraising campaign to help her son move more easily around the house. The funds raised will be used to purchase two stair lift devices.
Despite his strength and determination, simple tasks that most of us take for granted, like climbing the stairs, getting to his room, or moving around the house, have become increasingly difficult and exhausting for him.
The goal of the campaign is to make everyday movement less challenging for Alex. Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease is a rare, progressive condition that affects muscles.
