New York Knicks All-Star Charles Oakley has been ordered to pay over $642,000 in attorney fees and costs to Madison Square Garden.
The sanction is part of his ongoing legal dispute with the Garden, stemming from his 2017 ejection from a game.
Magistrate Judge Robyn Tarnofsky ordered the payment, which is lower than the $1.5 million requested by Madison Square Garden's attorneys at King & Spalding.
The judge's decision was made after Oakley lost five years of text messages that could have served as evidence in his lawsuit,
Reuters reports.
