Despite the restoration of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), food needs continue to grow, with area food banks helping to bridge the gap.
Cass Davis, a Moscow resident living on a fixed income due to disabilities, relies on SNAP to cover about $200 of his monthly groceries.
“I’ve been going salmon fishing despite the fact that I got a cold and I was miserable this morning,”
“What they’ve done by taking away my food stamps is put me in a real pickle,”
Davis is one of roughly 130,000 Idahoans who rely on SNAP, while in Washington, the number is about 888,000 people.
