Three people are facing weapons charges after an early morning firearms complaint in Val Caron on Sunday, November 2.
Greater Sudbury Police responded to a call at around 6:15 a.m. regarding a weapons complaint outside a residence on Municipal Road 80 in Val Caron. The complaint stated that three individuals were outside a home in possession of a firearm.
According to the police,
“Officers attended the area and upon seeing police, the individuals fled on foot.”Two suspects, a 52-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman, were taken into custody immediately. The third individual fled into the bush and was later apprehended with the help of the tactical unit after hiding inside a house.
At the scene, police found a bag containing a shotgun, which the suspects had dropped when they spotted the police and fled.
