Shotgun in a Bag Leads to Charges for Greater Sudbury Trio

Three people are facing weapons charges after an early morning firearms complaint in Val Caron on Sunday, November 2.

Greater Sudbury Police responded to a call at around 6:15 a.m. regarding a weapons complaint outside a residence on Municipal Road 80 in Val Caron. The complaint stated that three individuals were outside a home in possession of a firearm.

According to the police,

“Officers attended the area and upon seeing police, the individuals fled on foot.”
Two suspects, a 52-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman, were taken into custody immediately. The third individual fled into the bush and was later apprehended with the help of the tactical unit after hiding inside a house.

At the scene, police found a bag containing a shotgun, which the suspects had dropped when they spotted the police and fled.
