A proposal for a new sidetrack production well at the Whisby oilfield in Lincolnshire has been resubmitted to planners, three years after initial approval.
In 2022, DrillOrDrop reported that BritNRG, the Whisby operator, applied for planning permission to target oil from the southern part of the oilfield.
The plan was approved in October 2022, but limited work was carried out on the well. According to BritNRG:
BritNRG have been progressing with detailed designs and securing other regulatory approvals from the EA under the Environmental Permitting regime.
The company has agreed to submit another planning application to Lincolnshire County Council.
