VodafoneZiggo Partners with Ericsson for Network Modernization
VodafoneZiggo has signed a three-year agreement with Ericsson to upgrade and expand its mobile network in the Netherlands.
- The program will cover approximately 3,000 sites.
- It includes infrastructure upgrades and performance management on VodafoneZiggo's all-Ericsson footprint.
- Deployment is set to start this year and will run for the next three years.
Ericsson will provide its ultralight AIR 3255 TDD Massive MIMO radio, which can reduce energy consumption by up to 63% and is 58% lighter than its predecessor.
VodafoneZiggo CTO Thomas Helbo stated that the agreement "marks another milestone" in delivering "world-class connectivity" and improving capacity and efficiency.
Ericsson's Sudipta Ghosh added that the project will bring "state-of-the-art network technology and services" while supporting sustainability goals.
