Heavy Rain and Gusty Winds Expected Midweek

A disturbance approaching the Marianas is expected to bring heavy rainfall and breezy conditions, peaking Wednesday night into Thursday.

The National Weather Service is tracking the system, currently designated Invest 90W, which weakened over the weekend but remains positioned west of Chuuk.

Computer models have shown this broad area, this organized disturbed weather stalling and then eventually pulling better together around midweek and then shooting off to the northwest or toward the west-northwest around midweek and then giving us winds and rain

- said Brandon Aydlett, science and operations officer at the National Weather Service Weather Forecast Office Guam.

Meteorologists expect the system to reorganize as it moves toward the area around midweek.

According to forecasters, the atmospheric disturbance has been watched for more than a week south of Guam.
