Costume designer Dan Lawson spoke to PopCulture.com about the making of Elsbeth's Halloween episode, where Carrie Preston's character celebrates Halloweek by donning different looks as Eliza Doolittle from My Fair Lady every day.
The episode, titled "Ick, a Bod," guest stars Annaleigh Ashford as a suburban housewife and features a murder in Sleepy Hollow on Halloween night. However, Elsbeth feels the need to celebrate the holiday for the entire week, wearing multiple costumes inspired by the 1964 movie starring Audrey Hepburn.
The costumes were adapted from the 1956 Lerner and Loewe stage musical, based on George Bernard Shaw's 1913 stage play Pygmalion. According to Dan Lawson,
a lot went into making the costumes, from the dresses to the hats, to ensure everything was precise.
