MSG Networks is adding a familiar face to its New York Knicks coverage. According to Stefan Bondy of the New York Post, former Knicks sharpshooter Steve Novak will be joining the network as a backup analyst for Walt Frazier.
Novak will call about a dozen games this season, starting with the game against the Chicago Bulls in Chicago. He is replacing Jamal Crawford, who has taken on a role with NBC this season.
Novak has previous broadcasting experience, having served as a pregame and postgame analyst for the Milwaukee Bucks and calling G-League games for the Wisconsin Herd.
As a former NBA player, Novak spent two seasons with the Knicks from 2011-13 and became a popular figure among the fanbase.
