Yukon Elections: Voter Turnout Reaches 22.5%

Elections Yukon has released the voter turnout rates for advanced polls and special ballots. As of the latest update, 8,060 eligible electors have cast their votes out of a total of 35,764 Yukon voters, resulting in a 22.5% voter turnout.

According to David Rozsa, the training and communications coordinator for the territorial elections office, this number represents a combination of all votes received by special ballot and at advanced polls across the territory. Rozsa stated,

We’re still just waiting to see what happens. It can be pretty unpredictable with elections.

The election features a diverse range of candidates, including 1 independent candidate, 18 Yukon Liberal Party candidates, 21 Yukon NDP candidates, and 21 Yukon Party candidates.
