Burbank Recycling Center Evacuated After Hand Grenade Found
On October 28, 2025, the Burbank Police Department responded to a suspicious device discovered on a conveyor belt at the Burbank Recycle Center.
Around 7:45 a.m., officers found an object resembling a hand grenade, prompting evacuation and a temporary cordon of the surrounding area.
- Investigators from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Arson and Explosives Detail assisted in the examination.
- Using specialized equipment and a robot, they determined the device did not contain explosive material by 9:00 a.m.
- The area was reopened to traffic by 9:30 a.m.
No explosive material was found in the device.
