The Trump administration has started purging Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials in five major US cities.
According to sources, ICE leaders in Denver, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Phoenix, and San Diego were relieved of their jobs and moved to other posts within the federal agency.
The Department of Homeland Security is overhauling its mass deportation operation to increase arrests and publicity.
This is believed to be the first of more changes across ICE's 24 field offices nationwide.
No official statement has been released by the administration.
