Another cricket season has concluded at Harecroft Road, Wisbech, with the team finishing sixth in the Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire Premier League.
Stephen Wallis, Fenland Citizen correspondent, caught up with skipper James Williams for an end-of-season review.
Williams reflected on their final league position:
I think a fair reflection in the end. We had a number of injuries that impacted our bowling attack and with George Gowler staying in Leicester for the second half of the season, we lost our firepower a bit. However, the lads that were fit and available gave everything and we actually played some really good cricket at times.
When asked about the players who made the biggest impression, Williams mentioned Jonny Garner as one who stood out.
Author's summary: Wisbech cricket team finishes sixth in the league.
