Staffordshire Leader Reacts to "Squandered" Billions of Taxpayers' Money on Asylum Hotels
Staffordshire County Council Leader, Ian Cooper, has expressed his disappointment regarding the excessive spending of taxpayers' money on hotels for asylum seekers.
"The squandering of millions of pounds of taxpayers’ money on costly hotels is nothing short of a disgrace.”
A report by the Home Affairs Committee highlighted "flawed contracts" and "incompetent delivery" as the reasons behind the Home Office's reliance on hotels as a long-term solution instead of temporary accommodation.
The council uses Google Analytics to track page visits and improve the site, without collecting personal details.
