A new report by FMinus reveals a conflict of interest in Canadian lobbying, where environmental organizations and major polluters are represented by the same lobbyists.
Major Canadian environmental organizations and civil society groups are using lobbyists who also represent big polluters, taking a back seat to Big Oil's lobbying playbook, according to the report.
“As the climate crisis gets worse for Canadians, there’s a hidden cause,”
said James Browning, founder and executive director of FMinus, in an interview with DeSmog.
The report was prepared in conjunction with Environmental Defence and re•generation, a youth climate advocacy organization.
Author's summary: Canadian lobbyists serve polluters and environmentalists.
