Victoria Trials Kerbside EV Chargers
A ring-fencing waiver has been issued to electricity distributors CitiPower, Powercor, and United Energy to enable a kerbside electric vehicle charging trial in Victoria until mid-2031.
The $1.2 million trial, issued by the Australian Energy Regulator (AER), will include at least 5% vehicle-to-grid chargers and test how EV charging can manage local network constraints, improve voltage stability, and shift demand away from peak periods.
