Phil Finds Joy in Cafe Venture at Kennaugh's
After a helicopter accident forced him into early retirement, Phil Kennaugh found a new sense of purpose in reviving a vacant cafe at Kennaugh's Garden Centre.
Phil had previously managed O'Connors in Echuca and struggled with the sudden change to being idle.
"I was just going half-crazy at home,"he said.
- Phil's carer, Narelle Woodgate, was looking for a peaceful venue for independent support workers to bring their clients to.
- The vacant cafe space at Kennaugh's Garden Centre, owned by Phil's brother Gavan, proved to be the perfect solution.
Phil's idea to revive the space for Ms Woodgate's clients was well-received, and the cafe has since become an inclusive community haven.
