Ferrari 296 Speciale Brings 868 Horsepower and Hybrid Tech to Track-Focused Bloodline

Ferrari 296 Speciale: A Track-Focused Evolution

The Ferrari 296 Speciale is the latest special-series model, boasting 868 horsepower and hybrid technology. It gains 49 horsepower and sheds 60 kilograms compared to its predecessor, making it faster than the LaFerrari on the Fiorano track.

The 296 Speciale marks a significant evolution in Ferrari's bloodline, which dates back to the 360 Challenge Stradale. Notably, it's the first special-series car to utilize a V6 hybrid powertrain instead of a V8.

The powertrain consists of a turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 hybrid paired with a 7.45 kWh battery. The combustion engine produces an additional 36 horsepower over the standard 296 GTB, thanks to mapping inspired by the 296 Challenge race car.

The 458 Speciale remains one of the greatest naturally aspirated supercars ever built.

Author's summary: Ferrari's 296 Speciale brings hybrid tech and 868 horsepower.
