Seattle Storm Names Sonia Raman as New Head Coach

Sonia Raman, former New York Liberty assistant coach, has been appointed as the Seattle Storm's next head coach, according to ESPN's Shams Charania.

Raman brings a wealth of experience, having coached MIT's women's basketball team for 12 years and serving as an assistant coach for the Memphis Grizzlies for four years.

Most recently, Raman was an assistant coach for the Liberty in 2024 and was a top candidate for head coach positions.

The Seattle Storm finished with the WNBA's 7th-best record in the previous season and are looking to turn a new leaf under Raman's leadership.

Sonia Raman will lead the Storm after a breadth of experience as an assistant both in college basketball, NBA, and the WNBA.
