Air Canada says it cut 400 management jobs in wake of flight attendant strike

Air Canada Cuts 400 Management Jobs

Air Canada has cut approximately 400 management jobs, representing about 1% of the airline's workforce.

This decision comes two months after a flight attendant strike in August, which shut down Air Canada operations and caused over 3,000 flight cancellations.

Following an extensive review, we made the difficult decision to reduce some non-unionized management positions, affecting one per cent of our total staff.

The cuts will not affect day-to-day operations at the country's biggest airline, according to spokeswoman Angela Mah.

Author's summary: Air Canada cuts 400 management jobs after a costly flight attendant strike.
