Minister Bahlil Responds to Memes Mocking Him
Indonesia's Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia, has addressed the wave of memes mocking him on social media.
Bahlil admitted that he has been mocked since childhood, but the recent memes have bothered him because they feel personal.
“These mockeries have been happening since I was in elementary school,”
He shared that he grew up in a modest family, with his mother working as a laundry woman and his father as a construction laborer.
Bahlil said,
“So being mocked is nothing new to me”, but noted that the recent online criticism has crossed into personal territory.
