San Jose Sharks Earn First Win
The San Jose Sharks ended two weeks of frustration with a 6-5 win over the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden.
Macklin Celebrini recorded his second career NHL hat trick and matched a career-high with five points, including a key assist on the overtime winner.
- Will Smith scored at 1:37 in overtime to give the Sharks the win.
- Celebrini stole the puck from Braden Schneider and fed Smith with a cross-ice pass for a one-timer that beat goalie Igor Shesterkin.
- Smith finished with two goals and two assists, matching a career-high with four points.
"I just wanted to stay on the puck," Celebrini said.
The Sharks continue their road trip on Friday against the New Jersey Devils.
