YEREVAN, ARMENIA—A team of Armenian and Polish archaeologists are studying Argishtikhinili, a 2,500-year-old Urartian fortress in western Armenia, as reported by La Brújula Verde.
The excavation has yielded several significant discoveries, including living areas, a storage room, and a stone carving with human features.
“It was an idol-like figurine, preserved in its original position”
Mateusz Iskra of the University of Warsaw noted that the stone carving has eyebrows, closely set eyes, an elongated nose, and thin lips.
