The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research prioritizes home-grown cyber security innovations as cyber crime continues to cause significant financial losses in South Africa.
Cyber crime remains one of the biggest pain points in SA, resulting in large-scale financial losses for many local organisations.
According to Dr Jabu Mtsweni, head of the Information and Cyber Security Centre at the CSIR, this is a major concern. The CSIR, established 80 years ago, has opened its doors to showcase its hubs, including the Information and Cyber Security Centre, learning and smart factories, and a robotics lab.
