A funeral for a man who died by suicide took an unexpected turn when the best friend of the deceased noticed that the "handwritten" tribute song and obituary were AI-generated.
The family of the deceased were overcome with emotion, believing the words to be heartfelt and personal, while the guest, u/Atsird, recognized the familiar rhythm and phrasing of ChatGPT.

u/Atsird posted about the incident on Reddit, revealing that their friend had left behind a fiancée and a 7-year-old son.
