Ace Frehley, the original guitarist of KISS, has died at the age of 74. He passed away peacefully in Morristown, New Jersey, surrounded by his family, according to his agent.
His family said: "We were fortunate enough to have been able to surround him with loving, caring, peaceful words, thoughts, prayers and intentions as he left this earth."
Frehley was known for his "spaceman" persona and was a founding member of KISS, along with Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, and Peter Criss, when the band formed in 1973.
Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons stated: "We are devastated by the passing of Ace Frehley. He was an essential and irreplaceable rock soldier during some of the most formative foundational chapters of the band and its history."
Ace Frehley's family described themselves as "completely devastated and heartbroken" by his passing.
