The Greenwood girls soccer team has secured their 4th Region title for the first time since 2020, defeating Bowling Green 2-1.
Greenwood advanced to the KHSAA state tournament after the win, with both their goals coming in the second period. Bowling Green initially took the lead in the 21st minute with a header from Zippi Willgruber.
The Lady Gators equalized in the 56th minute when Caroline Drexel scored with a header, tying the game 1-1. Landry Campbell then scored the winning goal, securing the 2-1 victory for Greenwood.
The Lady Gators went on a huge eight minute stretch, and Campbell found the back of the net for what would ultimately be the winning goal.
