Bob Peart, a resident of Sidney and member of the Friends of Shoal Harbour Society, has contacted various authorities about the boat, including the Coast Guard, the province, Transport Canada, North Saanich, and the RCMP.

Peart, with over 35 years of experience in parks management, land use planning, and public conservation education, notes that the boat has been in Patricia Bay for over two months, previously being in Ganges Harbour before being forced to move.
