Former Trump Adviser John Bolton Criminally Indicted

John Bolton, former national security adviser to Donald Trump, has been criminally indicted on federal charges, according to the BBC.

Bolton, who later became a vocal critic of the president, was indicted by a grand jury in Maryland after the Department of Justice presented a case against him.

The indictment is related to an investigation into the handling of classified information, following an FBI search of Bolton's home and office in August.

Bolton issued a statement maintaining his innocence.

This makes Bolton, 76, the third of the US president's political opponents to face charges in recent weeks, and he could face decades in prison.

Author's summary: John Bolton indicted on federal charges.
